|
| Start by
Surfing the Net. You've
probably already begun your quest to learn more about alpacas, which is
why you are viewing this page. Check out some of the resource
links below.
Visit the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA) web site. There is a lot of helpful information on alpacas as well as links to Alpaca Breeders by state, current events and shows, and lists of informative alpaca books. To learn more about alpaca shows, visit the AOBA Show Division web site. Alpaca Fiber Cooperative of North America, Inc. Check their FAQs page for more information about alpaca fiber. Read alpaca books, articles, anything you can find related to alpacas. Talk to alpaca breeders. We are always happy to have visitors to our farm, and this is the best way to learn about alpacas. This allows you the opportunity to see alpacas up close, ask questions, and maybe even get some hands on experience while you are there. |
| Attend Shows & Seminars. There are many alpaca shows throughout the U.S. during the year. Check our calendar of events for shows and seminars in Michigan. If you are outside of Michigan or the Great Lakes area, check the on line calendar of events at AOBA. Many shows offer free or low cost seminars on a variety of alpaca related topics. Attending shows is also very beneficial as it allows you to talk to several breeders in one location, and schedule farm visits. |
